I did not come to Delhi for four good years until Nov 2010. Since then I am in Delhi every month for the last 5 months – amused at the thought yet refreshingly delightful
Delhi never disappoints me; contrary to all the big cities of the world I have been; Delhi brings an immense sparkle and it never ceases to amaze me. Delhi manages to awe me despite of all the dreads of traffic chaos and soaring crime.
I landed yesterday around 8:00 PM after a 14 hour arduous flight. Turning and tossing on my bed since 3:00 AM totally jetlagged brooding over the thought of what makes Delhi special for me – is it because I was born here or my friends and family or what this city has given me? I am sure the list is long but I believe the fond memories of some of the best years I have spent in Delhi with people I love the most tops it all
This time however, Delhi seems exquisitely ecstatic and it cannot be just my sheer love for the city. My effort to find the reason is futile thus far. I guess sometimes you need to leave things just the way it is without answers!!
